How to take comfort in God

Sharing with your friend!

We live in a world today, where many are unsure about life. They do not know where to turn or who to turn to because they have no experience of the love of God, the comfort, and the joy He brings to the heart. Whether you feel lost or hopeless remember that God understands and knows what you are going through. I have provided 3 tips for you on how you can take comfort in God and find hope for the future.

  • 1. Trust God

Psalm 46:1 Says God is our refuge and strength a present help in trouble. I am most reassured about this passage because of what is going on in the world today. We are indeed living in perilous times 2 Timothy 3:1. We are still faced with a global pandemic that is hitting the world left, right, and center; among other things are earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and senseless killings. How do we deal with all that is happening around us? We take shelter and refuge in the unchanging arms of God. Not because we see disasters everywhere for us to take our eyes off God and put it on the problem. We need to stay focused on God and not on what others are saying. God is the only solution, and He has gotten you in the palm of His hands.

  • 2. Never Give Up

The Almighty God is a fortress around us, and all outside influences, forces, and disturbances cannot penetrate us because God is the stronghold that is protecting us. God will sustain and protect His children as long as we take refuge in Him. No matter what is going on around us; we can rest in His promises and His faithfulness. He gives enough faith, He gives enough grace, He gives enough hope to keep us so we know when all else fails; He will never fail. Christ is the solid rock on which we stand all other ground around us is sinking sand. Be strengthened and continue to hold on and have courage because God will give you strength and hope to carry on and press forward.

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9.
  • 3. Have Faith

All of us have been faced with some sort of disappointment, despair, or some sort of loss since the pandemic began. Faith and trust in God are what has gotten us through. The Bible says to count it all joy when we experience trials. The outside world might ask how one can be joyful in their griefs, struggles, hardships, or even loss. The answer to that question is simple, GOD. Faith in God can move mountains. That mountain that seemed too hard to climb — God turned it into a molehill for us to step over. One of my favorite stories in the Bible is that of David. David wasn’t perfect, but he was a man of faith; he depended on God as his source and foundation for his strength. Through every storm, every battle, and every failure, he trusted God. He was not afraid when everyone else was running away from Goliath. David attacked Goliath full force because he did not see the giant in front of Him, he saw his God. He knew that God was bigger than the problem he faced. He had faith and confidence in the true and living God to deliver him from the enemy. He never doubted what God could do. We too have to have that kind of faith that will destroy the arrow of Satan. We have God as our anchor to keep life ships from capsizing. It is God that carries us when we feel like we cannot make it. He will never let us carry it all on our own. Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken Psalm 55:22.

I want to encourage you today and to tell you that no matter what you are going through right now, it too shall pass. Hold on to the unchanging hand of God; He will never fail you. He will always be there to comfort you. Take courage in the one true God IMMANUEL (God with us).

Dear Lord, help me to continue to take refuge in you because you are the only one that I know for certain will never change. You are a shield around me, watching over me as I carry on through life. When all else fails, you oh God will never fail. You are the rock that is higher than I am and will give me the hope that I need in the troubled world I live in today. Thank you, God, for always giving me hope to continue to trust and believe in you. Amen!
