It was a bright, cool, and sunny Tuesday morning; I could hear the birds chirping, cars driving on the road and the trees are very still; I could feel the cool, but very faint breeze against my face. My heart smile in awe because there wasn’t a lot going on, but I can still feel the calmness the Holy Spirit brought to my soul, it is much like a sense of inner peace. What better way to be grateful and show appreciation for God’s creation than to just sit and be still and take in the beauty of nature.
God’s beauty is shown through the works of His hands. We can learn so much if we just stop and allow our minds to meditate on the small as well as the great things that God has placed all around us for our comfort and benefit. It is in the stillness that He will speak to us–when we can take time to hear Him without the hustle and bustle around us. When we are too busy; we cannot hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to us because our minds are too occupied with the cares of life. We can see and hear Him…
Through the swaying of the trees in the wind…
Through the sunrise peeking through the horizon every morning…
Through the sky turning from gray to white…
Through the beautiful melodies of the birds singing….
Through the smile on a baby’s face…
His presence is all around us if we take the time to acknowledge Him. He walked and talked with Adam in the cool of the day when it was calm and quiet; where Adam could fellowship with Him. It is, in the same way, He wants us to know Him and to have that closeness with Him by taking the time to seek Him and to BE STILL.
I am so grateful for today and many more days to come. I want my spirit to continue to be in alignment with the spirit of God so I can continue to hear Him more clearly with an open ear and through meditation. As well as reverencing Him through all the beautiful things that I am surrounded by. Therefore I want you to do the same; take it one step further to allow your spirit to be filled with all that God has to pour into you.
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God
You speak Lord and the sound of your voice calms our aching soul. Refresh our minds with your glory, and help us to feel you in the hug of your loving arms. You bring peace and contentment to our souls through the beauty of your creation. Help us to take the time to listen to you oh Lord because you are always speaking and you will use anyone and anything to do just that. Thank you, Lord, for reminding us of your love every day through the smile on every face or the intricate details of the creation of mankind.
Amen!
