Psalm 5:3,12

3. My voice shall thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up 12. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor, will thou compass him as with a shield.

In the morning is more peaceful to cry out to God and meditate. It’s like waking up refresh with a new mind and a new attitude towards God and life. We are free of the cares of the world that we went to bed with the night before. When we are awakened in the morning we have a new slate to work with and that is why if we let God be the first to occupy our morning/ minds we will have a successful and more productive day.

When God gets the first of our days we will be better equipped to fight the devil because we are spiritually charged. When Jesus was here on earth, He left a perfect example for us to follow. The first thing Jesus did even before the sun came up was to spend time praying to His father; which would lead to a triumphant day.

According to verse 12 when we spend time praying and reading the word, God will bless us with favor and surrounds us with a shield. Building a strong relationship with God is pivotal to our lives—it is necessary for our growth and development. One way to do that is to build a strong relationship with Him. Whenever we acknowledge God as first and give Him the best of us, He will reward our righteousness with:

  • Blessings
  • Favor
  • Protection
  • Strength
  • Power

I challenge you today to make God a priority in your everyday lives. Let Him be the master over you, so you can master all that He has entrusted you with.

Prayer:

Father God, I give you my all. I make you Lord of my life and as I continue to seek you intentionally, I will wait patiently and expectantly for your clear guidance in my life. In Jesus name
Amen!
